Andreas Höftmann, Dr. phil., Klavier-Jungstudent am Berliner Julius-Stern-Institut, studierte Schulmusik, Geschichte und A-Kirchenmusik in Berlin, Halle/Saale und Schweden. Seine Vorliebe für Alte Geschichte und klassische griechische Philosophie führte ihn zu seiner Doktorarbeit über "Muße und Musikerziehung nach Aristoteles" (Wißner-Verlag 2014). Seit April 2025 verwaltet Andreas Höftmann die Professur für Musikpädagogik an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Zwischen 2019 und 2025 unterrichtete er an den Pädagogischen Hochschulen Weingarten und Karlsruhe. Zuvor war er für über neun Jahre als Lehrer an Gymnasien in Berlin und im Großraum Stuttgart tätig. Zahlreiche unterrichtspraktische Veröffentlichungen runden seine Tätigkeit als Musikpädagoge ab.

Andreas Höftmann, Dr. phil., piano junior student at Berlin's Julius-Stern-Institute, studied school music, history and church music (Master) in Berlin, Halle/Saale and Sweden. His preference for Ancient History and classical Greek philosophy took him to his doctoral thesis on "Muße und Musikerziehung nach Aristoteles" (Leisure and Music Education after Aristotle, published by Wißner 2014). Andreas Höftmann has been Professor of Music Education at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media since April 2025. Between 2019 and 2025, he taught at the Universities of Music Education in Weingarten and Karlsruhe. Prior to this, he worked for over nine years as a teacher at grammar schools in Berlin and the greater Stuttgart area. Numerous practical teaching publications round off his activities as a music teacher.
